21型巡防艦在RN裡的設計和運用理念是如何?
也就是說，當時是基於怎樣的作戰想定和戰術理念而建造這批軍艦?
一些文獻指出它的上部構造是鋁製
何以它的排水量還超過三千噸? |

It is a frigate for export (especially to Commonwealth Navies) , initially partially funned by RAN as a replacement of DE, but eventually, RAN buy FFG-7 and MEKO instead.......

The Perry's got a aluminium bridge also, although it weights 4000 tons.
The Aussies didn't want the Type 21 of course, as those ocean invaders explorers won't want a top heavy vessel for missions. The only navy that got similar vessel is Iran (Vosper Mk5). Pakistan was being offered with a modified version of Type 21 with VLS Seawolf SAM, but bought the second hand Type 21 instead. |

Back to the Type-21 frigate, just from the characteristic such as "commercial off the shelf" equipments, handsome looking and "very good accommodation for officer and pretty officers" has shown it is an export ship....
"commercial off the shelf" equipments = less sensitive equipment from "motherland" and easy to add customer's equipments
"handsome looking" + "very good accommodation for officer and pretty officers" = attractive to those people who choose which ship to buy. Most navy personal never see war in their whole life, but they will definitely serve on board a ship for years......... Sailors don't have right to choose which ship to buy, but those Ensign and PO do

This is the reason why many officer like European ships (such as MEKO or Type-209) while many sailors like US ships..........

據說歐洲艦艇的軍官起居飲食都比士兵好很多，
但是士兵方面美艦似乎較強。
老美是全球海軍，其艦艇的適航性與環境適應力
應該冠於全球；英國艦艇要跟北大西洋的風浪搏鬥，
耐海力也很不錯。其他地中海國家的作品就....
